NZ Hip Hop Archive
The archive exists to preserve one copy of each New Zealand hip-hop release: a lasting resource documenting Aotearoa’s musical talent and taonga. It is a reference collection and is not available for public download.
Its uncompressed files have been created from a library of physical master copies, helping preserve work that artists themselves have sometimes lost access to.
This public catalogue focuses on official albums, EPs, singles and compilation releases. Mixtapes, studio multitracks, live backing tracks, unreleased instrumentals and acapellas remain preserved for future dedicated sections.
The collection has been utilised for productions by Television New Zealand, Black Grace Dance Company and The History of Aotearoa Hip Hop podcast series by Martyn Pepperell and DJ Sir-Vere, among others. Its tracks have also been used in documentaries, live performances and promotional material by Deceptikonz, Home Brew, Che Fu and others.

SUBSTANCE has been the live performance & tour DJ for many local acts including Cyphanetik, Red Eye Society & Tourettes (Breakin Wreckwordz 2007-2008), Home Brew and Team Dynamite (YGB 2008-2013), and Che Fu (2013-current).
